Kitchen

• Oven, hob, racks and trays degreased inside and out
• Extractor hood and filter degreased
• Inside fridge, freezer and dishwasher cleaned, seals wiped
• Inside and outside all cupboards and drawers
• Sink, taps and drainer descaled
• Tiles, splashback and worktops cleaned
• Washing machine drawer and seal cleaned

Bathrooms

• Limescale removed from taps, shower head, screen and tiles
• Toilet cleaned inside and out, including the base
• Bath, shower tray and sink scrubbed
• Grout and sealant cleaned
• Mirrors and cabinets cleaned inside and out
• Extractor fan cover dusted

Bedrooms and living areas

• Inside wardrobes, drawers and shelves
• Skirting boards, door frames and doors wiped
• Light switches, sockets and handles cleaned
• Radiators and window sills dusted
• Internal windows and frames cleaned
• Cobwebs removed from ceilings and corners

Floors and finishing

• All carpets vacuumed, with steam cleaning if stained
• Hard floors vacuumed and mopped or steam cleaned
• Bins emptied and cleaned
• Before and after photos taken of every room

They compare the property with the check-in inventory. The most common deductions are for dirty ovens, limescale in bathrooms, dusty skirting boards, marked walls and stained carpets.

How long does an end of tenancy clean take?
